GTA San Andreas: Stealth Kill

Been a while and Ive a poor memory. On the PC how do you do a stealth kill, I thought it was crouch, sneak up, right click to aim (while selecting a knife) then press "return" when you are close enough. But that doesnt seem to be doing it. Can anyone help>?

Yeah tbh I thought it was crouch behind, target, mouse1 while holding a knife.
But then I don't have GTA:SA installed atm.
Have you done the mission where it's introduced as a move? maybe it's something you can't do until CJ has learned it. O_o
