Ok my partner works in a company and they are running a competition to name the 13 new meeting rooms. There must be a common theme for all rooms.

    Any ideas?

My suggestion was to pick the rooms after " unlucky number 13". name the rooms after things unlucky.
Another was 13 letters in the name.

    I'm brutal so any ideas?

    Thanks folks

You could name them as the spelt words of the actual numbers in 13 different languages.

Edit: Knowing what type of business it is would help

13 is a baker's dozen so I think you should name them after cakes or pies

what kind of business is it? something related to the business?

    or countries or something

i do like the languages one

or a coloured one - different coloured! 12 different colours, the 13th being the rainbow room!

tables, chairs, carpet, walls, stationary... based around one colour! i dont mean everything hot pink or whatever, but maybe hot pink panels on the wall, glass & chrome table, hot pink fabric meeting room chairs...

carry the theme to blue, yellow, red, purple, green...

In my company we named the meeting rooms after Irish islands, Inishbofin Inishmore Inishmaan etc... Make sure you include Rockall :D

Leinsters 12 counties? Carlow, Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Wexford, Wicklow. Just name the last "Main room" or such.

Or name the biggest room "Leinster" and the other 12 as the counties

We have 54 meeting rooms. They all have logical names based on their location.

Depends on the company as has been pointed out. I hate meeting room names, I can never remember where each one is and end up asking someone.....so I propose you name them after their location in the building e.g:

1 = The big meeting room thats always empty, two doors down form the toliets
2 = The small one with one window a broken projector and a funky smell
3 = The one in the corner near the coffee dock that you nosey into when on a tea break
    4 = etc etc etc
    .....

Failing that you could just call them planets and their moons
    Pluto
    Saturn
    Mars
    Mercury
    Jupiter
    Venus
    Neptune
    Sun
    Moon
    Earth
    Ceres
    Eris

    and

    Uranus

Somehow I don't think Uranus will be a popular one e.g You meet a female colleague in the corridor and say-

"Alright Betty, hope you know that we have a meeting in Uranus at 2pm, be prepared" :p

The best sugestion yet. Whatever way they get named its going to be boring and not make a difference.

Maybe name them after Jackie Chan movie films:

    Rush hour 2
    Rumble in the bronx
    Shanghai knights
    and so on

I also immediately thought of the 12 Apostles agus Jesus when I saw this thread.

It really does depend on the company (how wacky, or not) and the products and services of said company.

    My ideas would be:

    - Elvis movies
    - The Company's product names (lickarse suggestion)
    - Letters of the Greek Alphabet
    - Famous Dead People
    - Ex-directors of the company (seriously lickarse suggestion)

Or instead of them being meeting rooms, they could be meating rooms.

Bacon, chicken, beef and so on.

Name them after 13 famous serial killers. That'll get you noticed.

Or after 13 porno movies, and see how long you can keep your job.

I'd give them names that rhyme with "room".

    Womb room
    Zoom room
    etc.
