Binary tree in assembley

Hi I'm trying to make a program in assemblly that will ecode a file using static hoffman compresstion. To do this i need to be able to reperesent a binary tree in assembly alnuage can any anyone give me an idea as to how i might do this ?? I am using 8068 assembly. Thanks all
