Ugly Betty is on RTE2 this January

Just to let people know the brilliant Ugly Betty will be on New Year's Day at
7PM and 8.30PM (Eastenders in on in between) on RTE2.

Clearly RTE2 is trying to get ahead of Channel 4's single episode (the Pilot) on Friday the 5th.

I don't know if this is a good slot for it or not. It seems to early.

if it's just a promotional thing where they show two episodes to get ahead and promote then fine. But a 7:00 pm slot for this every week seems like a waste.

Just watched the first episode, not bad Maggie from Extras is in it which is a bonus, and its got my fave babe Salma Hayek in little cameo role on the soap the Betty's family watch on TV, my wife watched the spanish version Betty la Fea a few years back and she was hooked on it, but there is just enough difference in this version to keep her interested.

After the first 2 episodes on Monday the show has a regular crap 7Pm timeslot usually reserved for sh!t teen dramas. Guess whats on at 9PM monday the 8th but a full hour of Father Ted repeats. The show deserves better than this and audiences deserve something new.
