Where do you normally get your Turkey that you love for Christmas from?

I normally pick up an organic one in Murphys Dun Laoghaire who get them from a farm in Cork.

    Yum

We get ours from Downeys in Terenure. Organic and they'll do boned and rolled for us as well.

N-Tray, I have the same problem - can't find anything on the Northside. I book with Downeys and then have to take a half day to go over and pick it up, which is a pain. It's ok for Christmas, but it's not something I could do on a regular basis.

You could try the farmers markets at Farmleigh over the next 3 weekends. Last year, they had a couple of butchers, but they were specialising in pork - it's possibly they'll have a more extensive range this year - and even if they dont, it's a good day out - although the bread and cake stalls are just FAR too tempting! :p

I can recommend Downeys for the quality and service anyway - we've used them for the past 3 years and we're even taking their turkey with us to Glasgow this year!

    Xmorpheus,
    :D
I only checked my replies today, and of course Xmas is looong gone!
I gave up the search and bought a free range tukey for xmas, which was lovely, but i will try downeys next year thanks for the tip.

I am a frequent visitor to farmleigh and the breads are to die for, and get sold up really quickly. Bought sausages there before and they were fab. The search for proper food will continue.....
