    Hey all,

    I live in the sticks and my internet speed it only generally around the 300kpbs mark.

    Would this be too slow for XBOX Live?

    I don't want to fork out 80 bucks for the xbox wireless adapter only to discover my connection to the net is too slow!

    You will be ok playing games online but downloads are obviously going to be slow. What are your pings like?

    If you have a router, all you need is a network cable that's long enough to reach from the router to the console.

    It would be using it mainly for playing games.

    A ping to google takes an average of 70ms....is that good or bad news??

    My router and xbox are about 100ft apart so I have to go wireless!!

    Where can you find your ping times and internet speed?

    To ping somewhere do the following;

    click Start--> click "run..."--> type "cmd"--> in the black box that appears type "ping www.boards.ie" --> press enter.

    Replace boards.ie with whatever site you want to ping (or you can replace it with an IP address).

    For your speed try here.
