Have to say its not the same without Gaybo's dodgy jumpers!!

Was a laugh though.. from the skanker kids with the Oompa Loompa tans, to the bogger kid with the amzingly annoying accent talking about hippos holes to not having 39 seconds to show a robot solve a rubics cube even though Prat was talking to him for 5 minutes!!

    Priceless..

I really must get a life, well until next year anyways!!

I cant believe they sang silent night at the end - the start of christmas used to be listening to some yoke singing "o holy niiiiiiiiiight" at the end of the toy show.

Its not the same without it..........

did you see the part where they were showing the "test tube alien" and the child was like "you add water" and then pat goes "and then you have a little baby alien" and all you could hear was a woman roaring "Oh My God" - i nearly wet myself! the "oh my god" was as if it was a real ALIEN

Was it just me or did Pat make a crack about the age of consent at one point near the start?

How is it they always manage to find some crazy kid from Kerry to read the books?!

Also the amount of times one of the production crew got on screen was ridicolous, at one point there was a guy in a shot talking over a kids shoulder to Pat Kenny.

Those kids on at the moment have FAR too much glitter on!

Indeed they did and its obvious (according to the gf anyway) that they were using sunbeds, what kind of parents do that to their 6 year olds?

imho the show was very amateur, do they ever test anything to make sure it works properly before hand.

Especially annoying was the robot and the rubix cube, jesus did they not test it the day before to make sure the lighting was alright

The Robot says, "Please improve the lighting". Pat Kenny is confused and doesnt know whether the robot wants more or less light!

Yeah I didn't get that at all,
"Yes pat he wants the place pitch black because thats what improve the lighting means..."

Maybe it was actually a robot for doing jigsaw puzzles and was utterly confused when they handed it a Rubiks cube.

    Enjoyable tosh as always.
    The flying car was impressive.
    Glittery, tacky kids were not.

You're obviously too young to remember the 70's Gay Byrne shows :D

Toy show rocks, it's the start of the christmas period in my eyes, a lovely tradition.

Little Chris had me in tears, he is defnitly a Joy Division fan with those moves.

I thought the flying Astra was just a really detailed baloon.

Rublix Cube robot was the winner, they soooo cudda shown that,

    ere he is anyway, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-X1-qgzGJs&watch_response

I thought those two six year old girls on at the start were a total disgrace (the ones dressed in the glitter). The outfits they were wearing were just horrific, far too revealing. What kind of a mother would let her six year old on TV wearing that? Every other kid on the show was dressed appropriately except those two.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 16,786 ✭✭✭✭Hagar

Why does Pat have to do everthing himself? Gay used to have helpers who did bits that usually went hilariously wrong. I think they added to the show. Also there used to be a film taken earlier in the day with the kids just playing naturally with the toys. That was always enjoyable. Pat needs to share the show a bit more. He doesn't even seem all that comfortable with kids.

They were a state alright, and the amount of fake tan would make the Orange Men in the North proud.

The little Kerry fecker doing the book review was just a head wreck, was he ever outside Kerry in his life? Nothing against the Kerry accent.......But Jaysus!!

Just a quick reminder that this show is aimed at children, not cynical losers with nothing else to do but take the piss in a sad attempt to make themselves feel clever or impress their peers. If you don't like it don't watch it. My kids are enjoying it. Goodnight.

Yeah..I have to agree..it IS supposed to be aimed at kids, but sadly I find it all a bit too representative of the new materialistic IRELAND....expensive toys,..more expensive stuff....gadgets aimed for Pat's enjoyment and stuff said like..'its ONLY 300 Euros'. What??? My kids were watching and I was thinking that I hope they realise how much money that is. Yes...christmas is a time for giving and all about the kids, but it's kinda lost its' value through this sort of thing. What happened to old fashioned board games and other such stuff (booooring..you'd think)...but I also had enough of the glitz and glam from young kids. From the audition tapes, there seemed to be loads of other talented kids they could have used too...and I was a bit annoyed at the kids who presented the show WHO ALSO GOT TO DO dances, sing etc..they could have spread it around a bit???

how true, was minding my 6yr old niece saturday and asked her what she thought of the toy show ,said it was crap and "all the toys were robots, sure they wud be no fun!" as she coloured in with crayons in colouring books...which goes to show, you can spend thousands buying and devolping hi-tech fancy-pantsy robots but the end of the day the crayolas, legos, matchbox cars, barbies, fisher price indestructable telephones and tape recoreders will be the toys the kids go back to and remember for years to come.
