    He drives a Ford, FFS!

For about 20 seconds, FFS! The Astons more than make up for it. The exhaust note from the DBR9 in the chase nearly make me jump out of my seat (I need help).

Remember too that Aston Martin is owned by Ford.

Woohoo for google calculator, and being able to just type in "convert N/mm to KN/m" and it'll come up.

The first 25 mins of Bond alone are worth the price of the cinema ticket. And I must stress alone. The rest of the film is cack. Daniel Craig manages to perform simultaneously as both Bond and the Bond Babe. The repeated references to his lack of his emotions lead you to believe that the film will allow you to eventually see inside the character at some point. But even when he is at his weakest and most open we get absolutely nothing. Not a hint of what makes him tick.

There are good points to the film (the action sequences are far closer to those in the Bourne films than any previous Bonds and his line about his Martini was class), but they are all completely washed away by the fact that he drives a Ford.

Funnily enough the one part I didn't like (other than the cringeworthy attempt at romantic talk) was the chase at the start over the cranes which I thought was ridiculous.

Plus I actually thought he was closer to Connery than anyone else has been, though different too (I wouldn't want him exactly the same).

Woohoo for the Trinity Orchestra/Choral society, they put on a great show tonight in St Patrick's Cathedral, rawk. Beethoven's triple concerto ftw. 'Twas also fun playing "spot the people who are just here to be 'cultured' and stuff".

    How did you spot them?

    How did you spot them?
Generally, they were the ones who frowned at my friend and I when we asked what was on the program, or when we sat on the ground, or in general for just being slightly shabby students and not well-fed, designer-label-toting, middle-aged bourgeois types. So we were like, where's the love? Music is for everyone, duuuude.

How in the name of all things holy do you manage that? You must have the willpower of a god (or something suitably impressive).

I had posted something similar, thus Ed's "miaow" earlier, but edited because it would have been counter-productive.

Our broadband finally works! I plan to spend a hell of a lot more time on boards, now that I don't have to spend five minutes trying to submit a post using dial-up!
