    It's the News on 2 you're thinking of. News Tonight's on TV3.

But it is dreadful though. It's bad enough to show ads without taking a half hour out for news. It makes the film completely disjointed. No director would want their movies to be shown that way, if they wanted that they'd have put the ads in themselves.

Me too! The ad breaks were bad enough but then they anounced they were stopping for the news so I gave up.

Will get the DVD out instead.

    Damn RTE! (again)

It's for this reason I hardly ever watch "live" tv. Windows Media Center lets me skip all that annoying crap like ads and continuity announcements.

Even back in my good old video tape days, I'd be able to watch 3 hours of back to back SkyOne evening programming in about 2 hours 30 mins by whizzing through the ads on ffwd.

The thing is they could have easily started it a half hour earlier cos they only had some sh1t on before it and then they wouldn't have 'had' to take the break for the news.

There was only 20 to 25 mins left of the film. It's daft that they didn't just finish the film and show the news at 11.30 pm.
