front row volume "sticking"

    hey guys.

    when I press to raise or the lower the volume on my macbook using the remote control, it wiltinues to raise or lower until it gets to lowest/highest volume.

    this sucks.

    anyone else have this problem?

    Do you have your macbook connected to external speakers? This sometimes causes problems I believe. If not it sounds like you may just have a bad remote. Have you always had this problem? If not it might be the battery. You could also try pairing your remote with your macbook again, see if it has any effect.

    Does it happen when you use the F keys?
    It's nothing to do with the battery, and I doubt pairing would fix it. If anything, I'd say you'd be better returning it.
    They're quite good with that though - they'll post you out a new one and you'll have a two weeks to send back the old one, or they'll bill you for the new one.

    Returning the remote, that is, not the macbook.

    I think Ive found the route of the problem.

    I use an external firewire soundcard, an m-audio firewire audiophile.

    When I set the default output to be "built in" in system prefs, the remote worked perfectly.

    The sticking only happens with the firewire soundcard used as default.
    I guess Ill just have to live with it, and hope that the next version of the m-audio drivers address the problem.
