I was just watching crimecall, and I can't help laughing at how stupid it looks to have the people in the background with the telephones

the other funny thing is the cctv part:

"The suspect is described as having a basball cap, tracksuit bottoms and runners"

in other words he is a typical skanger and is f**cked up on drugs

    They get such culchie gardai
    "The man's vehecle is daangerous"

Why do they do it so bad??

As I recall they don't really have the money to do it properly anymore. It's embarrassing to watch.

I don't watch it much anymore but it always seemed to be very amateurish.
In the CCTV section I would often hear:

"Did you see him" - I nearly fell off my seat with laughter, it reminded me of what a teacher would say to a class of Junior Infants.

Also for some reason 90% of the gardaí they have on the programme cannot put their point across in a clear and concise manner. Would it not be better to "train" one or two of them in public speaking before they go on the show???

If you thought Crimecall had low production values, then you're obviously too young to remember Garda Patrol.

It was so cheap that they couldn't afford royalty payments for theme music, it opened to the sound of a Bodhran and what sounded like an empty oil-drum being hit rapidly.

Aye but all that aside, if your bike got stolen or some gurrier was worrying your sheep, then it was a blessing.
Oh and it was the only thing to watch if you wished to be re-united with your pilfered candleabra...

[edit] I'm trying to recall it's NI equivalent of the time...equally hilarious in it's own right.
