Barrage Paintball for airsoft

    Well folks I bring you good news. I had a nice long converstion with hawkerhunter earlier today, and he is definitly interested in hosting some airsoft skirmishes.

    Anyway details about the site, at the moment fees are €30 for Paintball with 200 ( i think ) free paintballs and then €10 per hundred after that.I assume that entrance for airsoft would be similar, and we should be able to buy BBs there. The site is actually a leisureplex with 2 paintball fields attached, one is 80x40 metres and thats for speedball games, the other is setup for Capture the flag type games with forts bunkers bridges etc. For anyone who has yet to invest in safety gear masks will be available to buy up there and prices range from €30-€60. There are 2 different types of camo gear available up there to tell teams apart, British DPM and Swiss DPM. We should still be free to bring up our own gear and use armbands. Barrage want to set up an insurance policy whereby we pay between €30 and €50 (price is still unconfirmed) for 1yr to cover us for injuries that we may obtain, I'll have more details on this next week.

    I plan on heading up in a couple of weeks to have a look at the place and demo some rifles for the guys up there, so if anyone is interested in coming up then let me know, similarly if anyone has anymore questions about the place either post them here or PM me and I'll see about getting them answered

    I can picture it now, me pulling up on the bike with ois and scope on the back and about about 12 guns stuffed in the sadle-bags. It would be enough to have airsoft banned again :D

    ahh sure we had a good run :) .Actually no we didnt we havnt even skirmished yet :o . Any chance they'd be able to host a wee skirmish anytime soon even 10-20 people or do they still have to figure out the insurance [sorry i had 2 ask :o ]

    Is barrage paintball before or after ashbourne coming from dublin?

    The pic is nearly two months old. I think you may be impressed with the plane.

    It is after Ashbourne.
    You come off the bypass and take a left. Down that road for about 2 miles i think then you are taking a right for the sign for pudden hill. I made it to the M50 from there one sat at 2pm in 15mins (doing the legal limit aswell)


    As N.O.I.P says, it is a leasure plex settup. for all the info on it visit www.puddenhill.com

    Ok thanks alot for the info the reason i ask is if it was before i could get the bus up lol... and yea very impressed with that plane, its amazing am i allowed to fly it?

    Scope, They still want to look into it a little further, they should know about the insurance on friday so ill let you know about that as soon as they ring me and then they are going to want to look at the numbers of people interested in airsoft to make sure its economically viable so get out there and sell the idea to your friends.

    Irishpimpdude, they have a map on the site that ditpaintball linked to but to answer your question, its after Ashbourne when heading there from Dublin.

    i also gave directions there in my last post.

    the 103 bus eireann bus goes by it aswell. But you have to walk a mile or two off the bus.

    The insurance thing is a great idea for paintballers aswell, not just airsofters. Irish-Paintball.net are going to try and get a package going to cater paintballers, and if air softers want to jump on board.

    As far as i know it is insurance for people who shot real pistols and other firearms at ranges. so the risks in paintball and airsoft are a lot less when the safety measures are followed. Even doh, €50 for the year is a bargin. €1 a week.

    oh sh!t, i think it might be time to consider buying some extra mags, bbs etc.

    some form of magazine pouch is in order. not to mention that leg holster for my mac.

    ooh an interesting note, a Famas fits in a guitar case. will i'm be damned. no expensive rifles cases for me

    Ya ive been fiddiling around with my gear over the last few weeks aswell. That damned shoulder holster is fairly awkard and complex,especially when your lying prone so ive just ripped off the holster and magpouch off altogether and am goin to get the sister to sow it onto a duty belt around the hip area [my sowing skills arent up 2 par unfortunetly]
    Oisin im nearly looking more forward 2 seeing that mac then actually skirmishing ,nearly:)

    i'd like to get a nice webbing setup. but yeah, i'll leave all that till i have a game up in this place. dont wanna go up on the first game looking like some hard core lunatic and then get my arse kicked :D not like thats gonna happen anyway...lol

    the mac holster is a must though. be nice to have just there on my leg, even if i dont use it much. just in case i get pinned down somewhere and run out of ammo. ****e, i'm gonna need extra mac mags :D

    anyway, back to the topic. no more names to add to the list?

    oh, and dont be getting your hopes up about the mac, i dont want one of those

    "oh, is that it?" *sadface* moments!

    how about instead of writing the same list of people entending down every time, how about start a new thred and let the starter just edit the first post according to who ever signs up.

    But that would leave the burden on the OP to update it. What's the problem with this system? :confused:

    Perhaps when we've got a completed list we could start a new thread called 'Boards.ie Airsoft Skirmish #1' or somethin, for organising it :) People could meet up before the bus, offer lifts (hint hint), and so on.

    OP = original poster

    The idea is that we'll have the list + the name of whoever's reposting the list. So therefore the most recent replication of the list will be the most upto date one!

    We did it here and it worked just fine mate.

    Suggestion taken on board though!

    well originally i just wanted to see if people were actually interested in playing on this site. when we have a date for a game and more details i suppose we could do a more formal thing.

    hey guys,

    You can count me in for this as well. Can you bring sidearms as well? I have a H&K MP5 SD6 but I'll have to invest in a few more hi cap mags as I've only two with the original lo cap. May need more that that to save too much reloading in the field.
