    Hey,

    I've been doing this in Dublin and find it really good. They have a website www.fwckungfu.com Anyone know much about this style and if so what do you think of it?

    From allegorical accounts, this is the foundation of Tode although rather extraneous.

    Hello Johnny
    It is one of the styles that make up the Five ancestral fist system from Southern China.

    I teach Ancestral Whitecrane (also known as sleeping crane) under Dr, Yang, Jwing Ming in Blackrock.

    The site you linked seems to be down at the moment. I am curious to see any vids to see if there is any similarities to our system.

    Can you answer a few questions for me?
    Is the main focus of the training on partner work using striking combinations with the hands? Eg, blocking and striking routines, reaction drills etc.

    Do you train whipping jing (martial power)?

    Do you work on the footwork/stances of the crane, eg, hopping, jumping, flying etc.

    Do you train trapping, locking and throws?

    What weapons do you train?

    Do you pressure test yourselves with sparring?

    Really curious about this school, because it would be good to link up and share our skills and knowledge. Perhaps we could invite your guys to our workshops/seminars and vice versa!

    I remember reading that some of the Shotokan techniques came from this style. I gotta check out the website.

    I think Hung Gar Kung Fu, has a strong link to Shotokan too.

    Sorry that I couldn't answer any of your questions there Paul, I just turn up Mon and Tue nights and do what I'm told. I'm not a martial arts expert or anything but I'm sure if you came along some night you'd get the answers you're looking for.
