I love it and there is more emotion in the music of 1980's. I might be biased coz I grew up listening to radio my parents chose.

Well it depends one of the galway nightclubs does 80's nights on wednsdays and I have to say they are on of the best nights out but I wouldn't ever find myself listening to it otherwise even though I like it!

What the hell? I was in Galway for a week and my birthday was on a wednesday and we ended up back at the hotel by 11.30 cos we couldn't find anywhere to go. Goddammit.

Some 80's music is awesome, some is utter, utter sh1te. You could say the same for any decade.
I quite like eighties guitar rock and some pop stuff like Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean", Simple Minds' "Don't you forget about me" (breakfast club!), Toto's "Africa" and Kim Carnes' "Bettie Davis eyes".
Then there's stuff like Phil Collins, whom I normally can't stand, but "Easy Lover" is such a ****ing catchy song, and its stuck in my head all week thanks to being on the soundtrack of Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories.

Also, Eye of the Tiger was no.1 in the UK on the week of my birth \o/

Ya know what, I do like 80's music. Its better than most of the sh1te being released today.

I listen to some 80's songs when I have a particular mood or thinking about particular people in my life.
I listen to dance and recent music when I'm partying. I don't find music now contains as much emotion. Listening to ASH_sometimes now and it makes me feel good where if I listen to new music it's so fast beat almost like an artificial high; kind of like junk food-what a world

80s music was fine in the aftermath of punk and new wave (Police/Pretenders/Stranglers etc) and in the early days of electonic pop (Numan/OMD/Thomas Dolby/Scritti Politi etc) but then Wham, Duran, Spandau, Culture Club etc became the mainstream and it all went to sh1t.

    Mike.

There's some great 80s music. Unfortunately, I hear so much of it on the radio I'm getting sick of it.
