I have seti@home running on the parents' P4 1.6ghz at home in Kilkenny - but its taking about 26 hours to complete each unit!? Its' completed 5 or 6 units so far, all of them bar one taking over 20 hours. The "one" took 7 hours.

    Using windows client.

    Can anyone explain this?

    Stephen,

Read the earlier posts in this thread, there's some good info there regarding speeding up work unit processing.

Sorry for digging this post up again but with all the talk of people building/buying really powerful machines I thought some of them might like to donate there idle processes to SETI. Get the client here and join the boards.ie group here

You don't need your password to download/process WU's. Just work away with the tincool@ireland.com account for now and try and remember your password.... :D

well seeing as there is no readme with this cmdline/driver set I'm lost as to how I get it working, I thought my last post made that pretty clear, how does it work? what do I do to get seti running without the graphical user interface which takes about 10+hours to complete a WU.

I didn't realise we had so many inactive members though :(

Keep up the good work anyways.
