I've been trying to set up my PS2 online with eircom Broadband. I've been trying to set up my PS2 online with eircom Broadband. I have everything hooked up, and I've put the settings in as instructed in this thread:

The PS2 connects to the network fine, but when it goes to check the DNAS, it can't connect to the DNS server. I've put my DNS server in as 192.168.1.254, as instructed, and I've also tried the settings visible on the Netopia router settings page, neither seem to work.

Any help would be much appreciated.

is that the DNS?

that looks like the gateway of he netopia, according to here

the DNS are different

try that and see

Yeah, I've tried using the eircom DNS IP address and that doesn't seem to do the trick either, I'll try it again now.

Should I enable DHCP for my PS2 or manually pick an IP address in the network config?

You need port 5739 opened on your router/netopia thing

www.portforward has a guide for your router, altho the interface looks different, the point is the same you have to have that port open for others to connect to you and vice versa.

its says 'service unavailable at this time' is this the same for every1?
