    You are right, it was there and is on the ad handout that came in one of the papers over the weekend.

    The only other info I could find is the newsflash here.

    It was a usb phone running custom software and you could buy monthly packages something like blueface's

    yes it was in the website yesterday, it was listed just before the "Wireless Laptop Accessory Kit" the specs still online on ALdi Voip Phone but not in the main page.

    It was listed as available from Thursday.

    Over in the UK there was originally a VoIP offering from Aldi for last weekend, but they had a notice up saying it was now delayed till 03 December 2006.

    Tesco over here are doing a similar offering of a custom VoIP USB phone and an account with some company, is it the same in Ireland?

    If its USB you might as well wire an ordinary 5 euro phone up to the mic and ear sound card. They are not VOIP handsets unless they work without PC. Just USB sound cards with buttons. The PC is doing the VOIP.

    I prefer a VOIP that works without a PC.
