Make Someone Famous

Had an idea although im sure im not the first to think of this.. What are our chances of making someone from Boards famous for no reason? we would need to have interested users each nominate themselves with reasons why they believe they are most suitable AND most normal. It would need to be a very normal person. Then the…

there are already famous people that post on boards.

you just dont know about them

as for making a boards.ie character famous, go for it. but be careful. theres lots of ugly people here. you'll want to pick someone good looking. i mean, seriously, theres no reason to put a bugly in the limelight!

I think anyone saying "me" (as in themselves) should be automatically disqualified. As should mods (sorry Ruu)

With regards to the whom should we "make famous". There are a number of Boardsie's on the film production board that have made short films. Promotion of something like a short film that is attached to the person would help to get the person recognised. (back to the youtube idea).

Actually we have a canditate that we can make famous in Ireland if ye want, and no its not me , we have a lady member who is a DJ and we can get her on to the radio if we really want to.

say for example , Jenny Kelly is going to going on leave , and that leaves a spot open ,we could request the ray darcy show to give this spot to our lady Dj , there are 70k of using this site now apparently. We could ask that it be set up as a competion and just vote her in, She would be famous for awhile at least, and it would prob be a dream come true for her.

not only would be able get her in but we would be showing the true power of BOARDS.IE

ok maybe its a lame idea but and idea non the less

Holy cabbages i never thought id see this much interest!! Good stuff, the game is afoot. We first of all need to agree on the ideal punter.

As boards can often be a place where some people know each other and some dont, we need a candidate picked based on their character as opposed to their popularity.

Therefore criteria needed:

* Quite normal to joe public but with a bit of a quirky, eccentric touch. (eating only blue M&M's is not eccentric)
* no previous serious criminal record
* no link to famous people at the moment
* be willing to take positive and negative backlash

and any other suggestion fellow boardsies might have!

then how we get them famous isnt too hard, publicity stunts is the key, slogans, t-shirts, street flyers, odd ad or 2 in the paper will work.

The only prob we have is managing the idea. Plus i need a sidekick to assist me in this devious scheme. Someone with entrepreneurial ambition!

Any mods posting here think we should suggest a forum to develop our idea or will we get away with posting in AH?

I think we should make Tar famous! We could enter (s)he in both the Mr Universe and Miss Universe contests at the same time. OK, let's get organised. Who wants to fill out the entry forms? Who wants to handle the press releases? How about someone to contact sponsors and advertisers wanting to show (s)he with their product displays? I know something about photo ops, I can handle that.
