Make Someone Famous

Had an idea although im sure im not the first to think of this.. What are our chances of making someone from Boards famous for no reason?

we would need to have interested users each nominate themselves with reasons why they believe they are most suitable AND most normal. It would need to be a very normal person.

Then the rest of us would have to come up with some ingenius idea for spreading the word about John or Mary or whoever we pick. Then hopefully the media could pick up on this superstar!!

Ok so my idea is only in its infancy, but what do yizzer think?

so many 'celebs' nowadays are famous for being only famous so there is no reason why this would not work -so simple to do with the right support -would be a great laugh if nothing else -

Interesting idea. Doubt it would work, simply because there are a lot of people "popular' on the internet, that never get into the media.

Oh this should certainly bring the attention whores out in their masses.

The idea in itself may work though with some dedication, but in saying that I don't know how many people would be bothered.

Easiest way is to take someone, say pighead, and nail him naked to the arch at Trinity. He'd be famous then, right?

Ha. Good idea.
Could do podcast interview to start.
Then get him/her in a live radio interview.
If anyone has contacts in newspaper, mention him/her here and there.
Next thing... VH1 will have a show dedicated.
It can't fail.

This is a good idea actually:) Someone from the webmaster flash forum could build them a website, someone from the photography forum take some professional "publicity" shots and some photos of them drinking coffee in a cafe etc etc and approach loads of different papers trying to sell the photos, haha.

I'm not sure its as easy as a lot of you make out. A lot of "famous because they're famous" people have either been involved in something that captured a large public imagination, or are famous by association with other famous people. You can't really organise that.

What with youtube being in the news, whoever is picked make a vid, stick it up, then everybody from boards hit the link, not exactly famous but you'd be on the front page of youtube for a while and would get a few hundred thousand curious

I think pighead would be the only viable option.

Sure there are plenty of characters on boards but none as remotely distinctive and as widely known as the man himself

I don't agree with Pighead as an option, I think he'd try too hard and the idea is to be famous for no reason right? Where as Pighead (I love you man.) is already a legend in his own right.

Someone nobody knows is more the idea. Ask yourself one question.

On a side note, I like the idea and will support regardless.

Well considering if this goes ahead, the chosen person would have to show their real selves i.e names, photos etc. and somehow I doubt Pighead would do that. It'd probably ruin his character anyway.
That said, he'd still be the best choice imo, if he were up for it of course.

Failing that...probably Sangre.
