    I think that Maurice Hickey is loosely based on Jackie Healy Rae, his character is similar to the way Jackie was portrayed in "Bull Island". Maurice also write a weekly column for the Irish Farmers Journal. My first time seeing him on TV was on RTÉ's "Xit poll" series before the 2002 General Election, hopefully it is Bertie and Co. we will be laughing at next May rather than Maurice.
