Can I cancel my NTL TV but keep my NTL Broadband?

Hello,

Hello,

I would like to know if I can cancel my NTL Digital TV package but keep my Broadband package? I want to put in SKY+ but I am happy with my NTL so would likt to keep it.

You have to have the minimum "NTL" (now UPC) TV package, whatever that is in your area. It may be 10 to 15 Analogue channels, or a basic Digital package. Think of it as equivalent to Eircom Line Rental on DSL.

It's listed in the bb section, or at least it used to be. You have to have basic cable (not digital, just the standard cable) to be able to have bb.

I sent NTL the same question (subscription to broadband but not TV) and was told this was not possible :-(

If you are with NTL cable, then you most get the basic analogue TV service (€20 pm).

This is because, there is no way for NTL to cut off the analogue TV service without cutting off the BB service also. So if they didn't make it a requirement, then everyone would just cancel the TV service, but continue to use it.

If you are in a Chorus area that has a scrambler box for analogue TV, then you don't need to get the TV service, you can just get BB from Chorus.
