Hi everyone - got a weird question - Bought a purple skoda recently. Colour is purple, but the car is tip top otherwise. I want to know if I was to polish it with black wax or something similar, is it possible to darken the purple? I thought I'd ask anyway! cheers:)

LOL - sorry, one of the more amusing questions I've seen posted here.

In short, no, you're stuck with the purple, short of a costly respray!

I wouldn't worry about the colour, you can't see it when you're driving it.

It is actually a nice colour on the Octy!!

If you don't like the colour why then did you buy the car?

Yup Purple works well on Skoda's, but you can always add some graphics to break up the colour a bit...:)

You could paint it green, white and orange (with dulux) and travel to all the Ireland away games. :D

Always wear sunglasses, then it will look darker!

You could get an intel poster and put "prince inside"...make sure to put it on the bonnet.

Thanks for the replies - I guess the answer is no, as I didn't get any constructive answers. Yes it is a Octavia - Put it this way I would have paid 50% more for the car is if was in silver - ie. I got a good deal on it. Like one fella said I can't see the outside when I'm driving it; The colour is fine I just wanted to see if I can darken it slightly.

    Yours sincerely

What The_Magoo said. With dark shades on the colour will look like Aubergine ;)

8500? That's steep! I paid 6000 for mine last year and it had only 48k on the clock and also a new gear box had just gone into it....

Maybe you could try bleaching it and you'd have a pink car.

The colour isn't too bad. although it is an old spec '00 (It'd want to be a low mileage TDI for that price)
