Well €5.95 is the online fee, people in town can pay from €0 to €2 with their tickets

I might be tempted... dont kill me... *cowers in fear*

Well like the 5.95 is hardly the issue, it's the 73/78!!

Ah yeah, it's a shame the Christina Aguilera tickets cost so much but with so many gigs for November it's probably for the best.

Ah its a joke. Makes <snip> at €45 look like a bargain. Even though I already thought that

Isnt it the promoter who drives up the prices of the tickets and not the artist? There was similar hassle when Paul McCartney played and tickets were 100 quid, wasnt there? The artist has a set fee I would imagine along with a decent percentage of ticket sales. Its up to the promoter to grab and scrape whatever else they can(and for artists like Xristina or whatever the fcuk she calls her self), they usually do!

Dont think any missus i fraternise with would want me leering at Ms Aguilera on stage. In fact i think im so much in love with Christina, it would be better for me to stay away altogether

I paid €80 for ticket to that gig. Thought to myself that 'sure he's Paul McCartney, he probably charges that everywhere'. Went onto his website and tickets for his gigs in france a few days before/after were only about €45. Bloody disgrace.

It's quite simple. If you think 90 minutes of Christina Aguilera singing is worth €78 (around 10 hours of work for me), then pay it. If you don't, then don't go.

    Problem solved.

Sometimes prices abroad are higher then Ireland though.. recall the infamous Neil Young Vicar St. gig where tickets were over the €100 mark... in some european countries it was upto 20% more expensive. It can pay to shop around sometimes, but I do agree though Irish prices are generally above the norm.

Thats a ****in joke. Springsteen has been going for 30 years and the minimum you get off him is 2 and a half hours. this little teeny bopper will play for about an hour and a half and then shag off. the point im making is that somebody whos world class is ncharging 10 euro less than her and playing an extra hour. It's all about the money nowadays not the performance.

Its only done because enough people are prepared to pay €70+ to see Christina Aguilera at the Point. Makes perfect business sense.

If people are willing to pay, she'd be a nut not to charge those prices.

(although undoubtably not her setting prices)

is the €0 from the actual venue?

www.Tickets.ie charge -€1! if you collect at the box office. i.e. if they were selling aquilara tickets it would be €77. €7 less than ticketmaster! and they are obviously not a charity so ticketmaster are making €7 above what is a reasonable profit.

I don't think its the little tramp charging that price, here in Belgium she's playing/played somewhere(maybe Brussels) and i remeber seeing tickets advertised for 49 euro, we are overcharged for all gigs back home and we sit back and take it, thats why i don't go to gigs anymore! ====MUGS the lot of you=====

It must be said c.80 Euro to see Christina Aguilera is taking the p1ss. Concert tickets have been one of the biggest examples of rip off Ireland. Prices have gone through the roof. 7/8 years ago I used to go gigs regularly, as tickets were relatively cheap and you could afford to. Now I only go to a gig if it's a band I really want to see. Just too expensive. Obviously the promoters are just greedy fcuks, it wouldn't be Aguilera herself (or her management) who'd be fixing that price. People need to vote with their feet and stay away. The only solution.

Very true. And to top it all it is the point, a crappy warehouse with crap sound, crappy bar & toilet facilities in the middle of nowhere. I depise the place and refuse to go anymore. Years back it was easy to find people to go along to gigs that you wanted to see, others may not have been a fan but would go along just for the event. In the early 90's it was just a little more than going to a nightclub.
