I have a Dell inspiron 5150 with 80gig HD, and want to buty a larger 120gig drive from Komplett.

How do I know if my HD is 2.5" IDE or 2.5" serial ATA, so that i can get the correct one.

And come to think of it, is it better to fork out the extra few quid for 7200rpm HD over the 5400rpm. What are the advantages to have a 7200rpm drive besides faster access speed?

    Thanks!

It's IDE. 7200 will mean faster read and write operations, but can result in a higher battery consumption.
