    50s/60s/70s rock bands??

Was wondering if anybody could suggest a decent band who play functions ie: pub gigs, partiies, etc?? It's for a 21st birthday in Cork, venue undecided so far. It's not until October so I've a bit of time yet. I just don't want the usual "dj" playing crap cds teenage-disco style! I'd be interested in anything from Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison, Bill Haley, Chuck Berry, Elvis or rock & roll as such! (think the juke box at Eddie Rocket's!!) to like Springsteen, Gallagher,Hendrix, Van Morrisson, Neil Young, Dire Straits, ELO, Zepplin, Pink Floyd, Pearl Jam, even Aerosmith!! It's a pretty wide selection like, so if anyone knows of anyone or has any suggestions please let me know?!?!?!

    Thanks loads!

Yeh theres a 70's glam rock cover band called The Glitterbugs who used to be regulars at Break For The Border. They come out dressed like a glam version of Kiss and play all the great Glam rock tunes from the 60s/70s/80s.

Dunno how to get in contact with them though!

I have a Hendrix Tribute band (im lead guitarist). We play pretty much all the classics along with some of the more bluesy songs like 'Red House', 'Hear my train a comin' and just some Hendrix style improv jams.

Sounds good! The party's a while away yet, so right now I'm just weighing my options. I presume, seen as you replied, that ye'd be willing to travel? Also, do ye gig often and what's the usual rate??

I'm lead singer in the band "Never Say Die" . We do covers of bands like AC/DC, Guns N Roses, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Thin Lizzy, Faith No More, Rush, Black Sabbath etc etc... all that sort of rocking classic rock tunes that get people going.

Thanks Frankie, could anyone who's seriously interested, and willing to travel to Fermoy for the gig PM me with a rough price.

There's plenty of B&B's in the area for any Dublin bands thinking about it, and it's only about 3hrs drive, so down and back in the one night is possible!

    Thanks
