    Hi,

I've been considering buying this lens for Canon350D, and have read very mixed
reviews, although it got a rating of 8.7 on FredMiranda site.

Has anyone had any personal experience with this lens?
AF28-75mm F/2.8 XR Di LD Aspherical (IF)

There doesn't seem to be much else out there in the midrange zoom, with
a relatively fast constant aperture without stepping up to the canon 24-75 f2.8 L, or canon 28-105 f4 L.

    Any info/suggestions would be great?

    Ciarán

Hi ciaran ,I've got a canon 24-85 for my 350D ,to be honest the 24 end is not very wide .It's great on my film camera though.
Sigma do dedicated lenses called the 18-50 2.8 & 17-70 2.8-4.5,which are lenses I always have my eye on.
Try and get your hands on a lens thats the same field of view as the tamron 28 and you will see what I mean.

I have it, and have been happy with it from day one. It's very sharp and feels solid. Most importantly it's very cheap for it's quality. Have a look here for some sample photos.

Gets a good review here: http://www.photo.net/equipment/tamron/28_75_Di/

Always a bit weary of webreviews though. Was thinking if I went Canon dslr that would be a good way to go. Reckon would need a wide-angle lens to go with it, so those Sigma lenses Brian mentioned sounds an interesting alternative.
