The loud ignorant masses of Spanish teenagers that take over the streets for the summer. Even when I say "Excuse me" in Spanish to them, they ignore me. Also where I work I come in contact with our Eastern European neighbours quite frequently and it just annoys me when they dont have any english at all (why move to a country where you dont speak the language???) and they expect me to know latvian/russian/polish etc. I swear, at least once a day someone will try converse with me in a foreign language.

i dont really like the way the italians have taken over that area north of temple abr either...they are asking for it.

Well I'm not English! When I was in Austria I got by speaking basic German, I already speak Spanish and I'm brushing up on my French for when I go to France, so why would anyone come here with out the basics? I cannot adequately serve anyone in the shop where I work if whenever I try explain anything to them they look at me as if I'm speaking a foreign language (which I am) and say "miszhajdhb sjhfbwihdb". Now this isnt with all foreigners, 95% of them do speak english, and do so very well, but as this is is a thread about what annoys us about foreigners, I'm just ranting about the minority who speak to me in their language and make no effort to learn the language of their adopted home country.

If its any consolation re: The Spanish teens, they're just as bloody bad in their own country, I used to teach the little horrors for a living!

Spot on re: the ex-soviets, cant understand their arrogance, attitude and gargantuan sense of entitlement..i.e. why arent all services available in their own language! Breathtaking!And then to really put the feathered fedora on it the way we try to accomodate them, just learn the bloody language already!!! I've lived in three continental countries and had to learn, indeed expected to have to learn, the language to get along...

Im not one to make sweepin generalisations but......

Spaniards and Italians, for nearly running me down every day on their bikes on my way to and from work. On top of that, Ive found if your walking through a door with one of them infront of you, they seldom if ever hold it open/push it back a bit.

And theyre noisy on the bus

And theyre gorgeous at 17/18 but detoriate rapidly by the mid 20s (which is unfortunate, as I work with a load fro that age group)

And their women have woeful fashion sense

The fact all decent looking Russian/Polish birds have emigrated here with some mafia enforcer boyfriend in tow (thats what always makes me laugh about the "foreign women are deadly" threads, people coming up with lines like "Ive went out with Russian, Polish, Slovak, French, Irish and Italian women, and the Irish are the worst" completely oblivious to the fact that anyone with a brain knows this is a near impossibility due to the large majority of them being here with some lad). Not impossible to get your hole if hes not around, but going out with? Me bollix. These McDonalds and BK birds know their best bet is sticking with a guy who earns 12 an hour on the buildings so she can live like a queen when they go home in 7 years, rather than getting shacked up with an Irish guy on the same wage but who in 7 years will have a murderous mortgage to contend with.

Anyone who worked in a shop/take away will know that a sizeable minority (about a third maybe) of the Nigerians dont say please or thank you

The funnest thing I have ever heard coming from a spanish persons mouth was an old house mate of mine. He had to take the bus during the summer (normaly drives) Came home. Walked in the door... first words out of his mouth where...

"Spanish students are ****!"

Said they wouldn't shut up at all. Just kept talking and talking utter crap to each other across the bus. Me and the other house mates just burst our-selfs laughing.

He said he was ashamed to be spanish after that. But that it was that they where from the south and he was from the north.. so then he felt better lol

Really? I find having a totally different take on things makes threads/posts funny as, when they're not meant/posted to be. However, if I'm being serious (so not on AH!) I just find it a bit of a struggle to phrase things so I make my meaning clear ... most folk let you go back and rephrase it, those that don't, well who am I to care!

Totally agree with everything said about Spanish students. Just spent a year in Spain and it took me 6 months to get over how ignorant/rude/selfish/loud the vast majority were. They don't say please or thank-you, or excuse me, don't smile and are basically lacking in common curtesy and manners. This was in the South and to be fair I didn't experience the same in the North of Spain so maybe most of these students are from there. In the end I got used to it and it's been really hard fitting back in here in Ireland. It pisses me off though that they come here and act the same way as at home, they should realise that kind of behavior isn't acceptable here and have some respect for the local norms. They just don't give a s***. Horrible spoiled brats :mad:
