It was not 30c in Dublin today.

It was infact 22c round the coasts and around 24c in Dublin itself
and infact you were all correct with your thinking that yesterday
was hotter it was 26c in Dublin yesterday. If it was 30c in Dublin
    youd all notice it!

It was cooler in Dublin due to the easterly wind coupled with
    an onshore breeze.

It was 30c in Birr, Kilkenny and Shannon today.

    And up to 31c locally.

So us Dubs did not see 30c today more like 23 or 24c;)

Monday was far hotter than today.

I generally walk 5 kms to and from work every day and I was dripping sweat when I got home Monday evening

    Wasn't so bad today

no, it bloody wouldn't, the Irish love to moan and it doesn't matter what the weather is.
Don't generalise!! I am Irish and would never ever ever ever ever moan about hot weather. Never ever ever ever ever.... (you get the drift...)
It definately makes me happier :D

The Dublin sky was full of clouds all day today which might be the reason for it being cooler than elsewhere. :)

I like the sun, despite my condition. (I'm ginger)

though the heat just drains me of all energy, tried playing football today and was just left a sweaty mess lying on the grass!

Terrible career move buddy. Pigehad has absolutely no sympathy for your current air conditioning woes. In fact may I be so bold as to say SERVES YOU FCUKING RIGHT.

    What what what??!!

The heat is something savage (and I mean that in a good way). Pity I live in an town centre apartment, where the only sunlight I can get is on the two foot wide fire-escape. Plonked myself down on it today, stripped off, looked across the way, and remembered there's an office directly across from me, about a metre and a half away. I could see them walking past every few minutes, throwing a sly glance my way, followed by a snigger. I was trying to be all cool and nonchalant, but then two delivery vans parked underneath me and started unloading a Xerox paper delivery. I couldn't handle the pressure, and slumped back inside to sat by the window looking at the glorious glorious sun and the smug office workers. I miss the grass.

I live two miles west of spiddal right near the beach. Went for a swim at 11 o'clock at yesterday morn fabulous blue sky and crystal clear water. Only 10 people on the beach it was like having your own private paradise.

Yeah, I was at work too yesterday, and thanks to the crappy construction of this building it reached 35 degrees in my office! I closed all the blinds, had the windows fully open with 2 fans next to me and it was still boiling!

It's got cloudy in Limerick in the last few hours, so it's starting to cool down in here. THANK GOD.

In future, heat should be restricted to weekends.

There is so much bloody glass here in my house that the place is like a greenhouse / sauna!!

I HATE hot weather, feckin global warming, and Ill tell ya, we here in Ireland should be thinking about that more than ever, do you EVER remember it being this hot for this long 15 years ago? It really dosent get more obvious than the way it has changed in this country.

Now that my rant is over, Im going to run my arms under the cold tap (try it, it really makes you feel like you have cooled down for some reason!) ;)

I was on Inis Mór yesterday. Sitting outside at 1AM just wearing a t-shirt NEVER happens there!.

its started to rain a bit in Dublin -- Hallelujah -- the heat and humidity in town today was unreal -- i like the dry heat -- hate humidity -- a bit of a thunderstorm would clear the air nicely .

it's cloudy here now (north Kildare) and it's still very warm.
as much as i dislike hot days, i really hate hot nights. i can't sleep in this heat.
bring on the winter. nothing like snuggling up in a duvet on a cold winter night.

yep, 1995, 1976 and maybe 92 if memory serves (I may be wrong about that one)

76 was hotter imo I remember being on my summer holidays and it was sunny all summer, the whole country was brown and we had water rationing (this was in wicklow town)

And you know the hottest it ever gets is when you are doing you're leaving cert!

And everyone complains about how good the weather gets when doing the LC. The good weather puts you in a positive attitude which is exactly what I needed when doing the LC!
