NTL's automated payment - Closes when lines close!

    Just called 1800 234 234 which tells you press option 2 for billing enquires.
    You press that and it tells you if you want to use the automated service to check your balance and pay your bill, hang up and dial 1800 321 321 and press one.

    You call that number and press 1 and it says
    "all our lines are now closed. Our business hours are (blah, blah, blah) If you wish to use our automated service, please call 1800 321 321 and press option one......"

    BRUTAL!

    But why have an automated system that closes? What's the bloody point in that? Does the tape recording need to go home too?

    I'm a little bemused by the posts here, especially the OP and Mike's. I rang 1800321321 just now and had no problem getting through to the automated service which confirmed I'm the grand total of €0.01 in credit.

    This service has never been available after 9 or 10 in the evening. Point taken on the last poster's comment about it being an automated service. It's also a pain the the bum when trying to report a fault late at night.
