tipping your nail beautician?

    Hey everyone,

so I decided today to pamper myself and went to a hand and feet spa to get a manicure (gel overlays). It cost exactly 50eur.
And I didn't see any bowl or whatever to tip the girl. I thought she'd done brilliant work on my nails and I would have liked to tip her but it felt awkward to just hand her a fiver over the counter at the check out.

So, what's good decorum here? Do you tip? And how, without making it feel odd?

"Here, have this for yourself; you did a really great job".

    -hand over banknote

Although it does seem a little old-ladyish!

I always tip a fiver and just hand it to the beautician as I'm leaving. I just make sure I have it on me when I'm going in because I usually pay with laser.

If paying with laser I always tip a fiver cash handing it over when I sign the laser slip.

If with cash in your case OP I would have handed over €55 euros and said 'thanks a million'. If I had no change I would have asked for change in two fivers and handed one back saying thanks and I'm thrilled with my nails.

It's always nice to be appreciated.

    That's a good one!
Also, I'll make sure I have the change on me next time!

This is one thing I hate. Gel/Acrylic nails are extremely over priced anyway! I don't tip them
