Your backplate or the pull start?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 475 ✭✭no leaf clover

nah i think it ok, the pullstart itself, it aint fitting rite cuz the rotostart cracked on of the corners off, so iv only two screwholes to work wit, but only really one cuz wen second one in the pullstart wont work!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,248 ✭✭✭Plug

Ah yeah I see what you mean. Its not that bad of a problem you could try glueing it on and use thread locker for the screw. With 1 screw I would think the backplate could brake again:confused:

hmmm havent thought o that, ya c the pull start tends to get stuck out, kinda o a "fiddle with it" job, and it works again, its becoming v. annoying(hence the other thread!!) maybe if i replace the backpl8, the pullstart, and then figure out y it heats so fast it'd be right...there just arent enough hours in the day!!!

Yeah you could try to do that. A bit of money tho. Theres more places to look for an airleak: glowplug area, bottom of the cooling head, where the carburetter goes into the engine, fuel line, tank and the back plate.

hmmm, now that you mention it, one of the cable ties on my manifold..no w8...exhaust couple.. i think its called, the purple thingy!! anyway, one o the cable ties came off, iand i know its air leaking, dont know y it never occured to me b4!! hah cheers, ya c i have to stick a pump in the tube from exhaust to tank to prime her @the start bcuz with the air leak it doesnt allow enuff compression!! bingo!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,248 ✭✭✭Plug

Are you talking about the Rubber ring that connects the Header to the silencer?
if so, I think that The ones on both my tmaxx and revo must be leaking..!!
I would never have thought that would cause an overheating problem..

    Funny thing is.
When i go to start my revo for the first time each day.. It would take ages for the fuel to get to the engine..

I say thats probly what it was. Anytime the cars are brand new they prime like an alco drinking vodka but then when they get a bit old they lose there air tightness and prime as slow as an alco talking a piss.

Yeah then they should be no airleaks and it will start handy and no sluggish performance. Jesus you stay up late posting:eek:

That Problem will also make the engine feel like there's no compression when you're pullstarting it.

Are you sure? I think thats only related to airleaks on the engine itself and a lose port.
