sky plus stuck in stand by ???

as the title says my sky plus box is stuck in stand by i rang sky and tried everything they told me like holding the back button etc but no luck is there i can do to fix it like opening it,or will i have to bring it to a electronic shop

Chances are its a failed hard drive.

How old is it

Are you compedent with electronic hardware

it was the update
i used the force update 6 times and finally got my box going
