hi all I am looking for a bit of advice as to how I deal with this problem. I won a pair of jeans and the supplier was looking for cash which I sent (alarm bells), of course the item never arrived, she is since "no longer and ebay member", I had checked her history and seemed ok, I also have emails saying the cash arrived anyone have any idea how to deal with this as I cannot get in touch with her through my email.
    many thanks

Well there is not much you can do sadly. Can you post the link to the item here so we can look and who knows someone might have a good idea. And no need to tell you never use cash always use PayPal!

Ebay allows you to make a claim through them as they have insurance to a certian value. I was ripped off by some asswipe in the UK (when I was there) for an IPOD. I got the money back from Ebay and they paid it directly into my paypal account - now that was a bonus!!

Just to reiterate, this was done in the UK but I am assuming Ebay Ireland works the same.

you must open a "dispute" and follow the instructions.

if you have to go trough a claim with ebay be prepared for a waiting time of a couple of months.
i had an issue in january , so i started a claim with ebay and it seems that im getting somewhere only now.
also they dont refund you the Postage costs and they take 15 pounds ( or euro cant remember) off to carry out the claim.
So you must consider all this before starting the claim

wouldn't the dispute thingy only worked if you paid through paypal, if not i could see a big scam going on to get money out of ebay saying that you paid cash etc.

as far as i remember other options beside paypal were available
to start a dispute ( like cheques etc)
im not sure cash was mentioned and if i remember right i had to forward my
paypal invoice showing that i paid ( or some other proof of payment ) to ebay in germany
