    Hey guys,
My boat came with a little 'gas' stove thingy for putting pots/frying pans on. The thing is, its not gas, but instead somethign like 'debured' alcohol.

I don't have the manual handy, does anyone know the stuff I need to ask for as ill be going into the outdoor shop tomorrow to buy some? (Or any tips where I can buy the stuff - I'm in Galway city)

    Thanks

Sounds like you have a trangia of some sort - I have used meths before in mine but it can leave a little bit of smoke staining on your pots .. but nothing a bit of elbow grease wont remove ..

Yep, you have to sign the poisons book to buy meths! :) Best not to look like a wino when you ask.

rub some washing up liquid on the outside of the pots before putting onto the flame ( old scount trick).
the outside of the pot gets really black, but when you pour water over it the black just falls off.

Thanks guys, I ended up pre-cooking the pasta. TBH I don't think ill ever use the stove thingy - It's so much easier to just precook that stuff and stick it in the fridge :)
