The one thing that would put me off is that there was someone who lived very near to me who drowned last year going for such a swim in a lake last year in Fermanagh. Would always stick in the back of your mind.

Done it a few times, usually when drunk after a club. Once, we went for a walk, still naked, to get to another part of the beach and a Garda car pulled up alongside us. The rest of the group left me to do the talking. The Guard was still in the car so he was essentially having a conversation with my dick. They wanted to take our names but they eventually burst out laughing and told us to get dressed and go home. I still get a giggle from imagining the 2 Gaurds driving along on patrol only to be confronted by the sight of our white arses swaying in the moonlight.

I was going to comment on the fact that 44 people have voted and no one's said they got caught - either no one gives a damn or we're very carefully. I think this explains the reason!

I've done it in the Caribbean (Antigua), in 2000 on Lashings beach. Never dared do it here in Malaysia (not yet). Never in Ireland (too cold)

I've done it in a private villa in malaga, but only because she was drunk and insisted. Do you remember the scene in Jaws where someone saw a fin and there was a massive scramble to get out of the water, well thats what would happen if I did it in public. I would hazard a guess that someone would have a shotgun aswell.:D

quite a few times over the years, mostly in Ireland, bit of a laugh on a summer's night and as long as some fecker doesn't happen to stumble across your clothes and decide to hide them while you're in you're grand.

I'd saw the mor eworrying aspect is the amount of people who do it drunk... As for the swimsuit, that was my point... How can people say it's too cold to go skinny dipping and then go in a skimpy speedo or a pair of shorts that then stick to your skin for hours afterwards...?

yeah, i have done it - grew up by the sea after the pubs shut you would see 20/30 white naked bodies in the sea - oh it was great fun, i do now everything time i go on holidays, you cant beat it :-)

When Pighead was in college his ex girlfriend used to be a regular skinnydipper. Although I never actually seen her skinnydipping she always used to complain that her love zone was infested with baby crabs.

Once a long time ago on a sweltering night during a long hot Summer someone had the idea of driving to the nearest beach for a midnight swim. No one actually said we were going skinny dipping but when we got there it seemed like the only thing to do so guys and gals all stripped off and hit the surf. We swam ,we splashed about - we walked back to our cars naked. Someone produced a bottle of whiskey and we all had a warmer upper. Even though I was young at the time I had already been to beaches in other countries where people wore a lot less clothes than we did but this was different. This was Ireland (Holy Catholic Ireland at the time), these were friends and some were even work colleagues. It felt wild and free and somewhat surreal but I felt totally alive.
