PS" saving a PS1 game

Hi all Can anyone tell me a way to save a ps1 game when it is being played on a ps2. I have an overwhelming urge to play Gran Turisimo 2 but there is not much point if I can't save. I can get a ps1 mem card but not my ps1 any ideas? Backward compatible my arse.

You only need to use the PS1 memory card and it will save!!

Now I remember. My problem was that when yo used the ps2 to save it corrupted the mem card and so it could not be used with a ps1. That was the case with GT2 anyways. Sorry for me being an idiot.
