    UTV internet down?
    Hi,

Just wondering if anyone else has suffered loss of UTV broadband in the Ballsbridge (Beggar's Bush Exchange) area today?

I have a really odd situation. My modem's status is showing a 1024kbps downstream DSL connection active with pretty decent stats but the PPPoE link is down. The really weird bit is that it's supposed to be a 2mbit/s connection. This status page normally reflects the correct speed for the downlink.

I rang UTV and they're saying it's an eircom exchange issue of some sort. Very annoying though.

Modem status : (seems like it's connected perfectly to a default dead 1mbit/s channel on the DSLAM instead of what it's supposed to be hooked up to)

DSL Status: UP DSL Modulation Mode: GDMT DSL Path Mode: INTERLEAVED Downstream Rate: 1024 Kbps Upstream Rate: 256 Kbps Downstream Margin: 27 db Upstream Margin: 26 db Downstream Line Attenuation: 34 Upstream Line Attenuation: 17 Downstream Transmit Power: 0 Upstream Transmit Power: 0

    hiyas
i have a similar prob with a netopia wireless router (eircom), i got my package upgraded to 3 megs yesterday morning, i was online when the upgrade kicked in..and from then cant get any web traffic,

dsl sync light is on in router...when i access the router it says dsl available... eircom broadband not connected...ip address 0.0.0.0 ip gateway 0.0.0.0
primary and secondary dns server not available laptop and router can read each other

i have been onto eircom yesterday and today, tried all different usernames passwords etc no joy , any idea why the router does not pick up the ip address ? is it an exchange fault ? the router has been reset many times
    thanks
    ger

I think they've done something to my internet package alright. UTV are claiming eircom have done something at the exchange and are awaiting an explanation.

Hopefully it's resolved soon. Dial-up is horrible! Although I am getting 52Kbps, so must have a decent line!

    hi again
i had a problem with eircom and utv before over line switching..each were blaming each other so in the end i put in the switching code manually, it never got sorted by either party

if my issue isint sorted at 5pm today im dumping eircom and going wireless
