What are website standard font sizes?

I was wondering for headings if size 12 bold and then plain size 10 for normal text is the way to go or size 14 and 12? What looks best on a page in your opinion and whats the general standard?

use a % of the users default font size if you are unsure.

Generally speaking you're better to use a relative measurement like ems or %s to measure your font-size.
Build the page the way you want it to look.
And a realative measurement will give all users the option to resize the font.
IE6 can't resize text sized with pixels, I'm not sure if IE7 will be able to.
You'll need to test as you go with relative measurements as your layout can get messed up at some sizes.
