    OK here's my final list:

No repeats (e.g. you can't say both 'Chopper' and 'Motorcycle Diaries' or you can't say both 'Dances with Wolves' and 'Strictly Ballroom', or 'Pete's Dragon' and 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon'). Each object is only represented once.

No dodgy ones (e.g. Jumanji, Dumbo - it's 'elephant'!!)

As you can see I still have four gaps, but I have also identified the four objects in the picture that have no movie in this list, so they are the four remaining objects.

    1.airplane
    2.Bad Santa
    3.anaconda
    4.thirteen
5.the lion, the witch and the wardrobe
    6.swordfish
    7.toy soldiers
    8.beetlejuice
    9.the money pit
    0.bend it like beckham
    11.the scorpion king
    12.the hole
    13.flipper
    14.the crow
    15.barb wire
    16.the fly
    17.one hour photo
    18.phone booth
    19.twister
    20.the rock
    21.toy story
    22.broken arrow
23.black hawk down/the eagle has landed
    24.saw 2
    25.a clockwork orange
    26.jackass
    27.taxi
    28.ghost
    29.big fish
    30.bigfoot
    31.crash
32.the hand that rocks the cradle
    33.the ring
    34.napoleon dynamite
    35.mona lisa smile
    36.se7en
    37.four weddings and a funeral
    38.titanic
    39.the hills have eyes
    40.cocktail
    41.casino
    42.red dragon
    43.zulu
    44.chopper
    45.timecop
    46.boomerang
    47.chicken run
    48.beethoven
    49.xXx
    50. American Graffiti
    51. Mannequin
    52. Green Card
    53. The Birds
    54. Elephant
    55. Alien
    56. Blazing Saddles
    57. 21 Grams
    58. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
    59. Snake Eyes

    61. Red eye
    62. Man on the Moon
    63. Green Eggs and Ham/Ham and Eggs
    64. The Jacket
    65. Anchorman
    66. The Pink Panther
    67. The Matador
    68. Jarhead
    69. Dances with Wolves
    70. Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
    71. Sharks Tale
    72. Stealth
    73. Volcano
    74. Lawnmower Man
    75. Layer Cake
    76. The Dish
    77. Dune
    88. The Wicker Man
    89. SWAT
    90. The Mask
    91. The Pacifier
    92. Chocolat
    93. Signs
    94. Dragonfly
    95. The Red Balloon
    96. Bullitt

    So what's left?

The runner (good point that there's only one)
    The Black Dog…
    The black Star…
    The Castle in the sky…

I know suggestions have been made for all of these, but they seem like pretty obscure films (unless it's just that I haven't heard of them?), which the rest of the films on the list aren't.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Pete's Dragon are seperate.
Pete's Dragon is there, then there's a crouching tiger. The dragon is (get this!)...hidden! Makes sense, no?

Also, what about Black Starlet for the black star? That's not too obscure.

I think these are the only ones that have yet to be mentioned:

    The Thin Red Line
    Tin Cup
    Bird On A Wire
    The Shadow
    Darkman
    Cold Mountain

A couple of those are sketchy but you could make 100 from those.

A few of those have already been mentioned, good call on The Shadow and Darkman though! Don't think I've seen them. Either could be a possibility for the black figure. Although there are a few suggestions for that already, I'd love to know what it actually is.

I have confirmed the following on IMDB

    The Runner - 1999 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0165454/
    Black Dog - 1998 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120610/
    Castle in the Air - 1952 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0044489/
    Dark Star - 1974 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0069945/

I suggest instead of Raging Bull.

    The Matador - 2005 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0365485/

Whats the blue thing behind Four Weddings?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 16,786 ✭✭✭✭Hagar

There's a 10 of spades near the lower left of the picture near Beckham's right hand.
The blue thing is R2D2 that's why I put in Star Wars. You have to enlarge the pic to see it.
You could also have Python I think and Saw 2.

I'm surprised no-one spotted the Invisible Man...

Surely that should be Green Card?

No offence but spades aren't all that green...

/edit IMDB List two short silent B/W movies called "The Ten of Spades" form 1910 and 1914.

You may well be correct there.
I thought that was just a distortion as I'm looking at the picture magnified.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,702 ✭✭✭bounty_hunter

Aye, look at it as its original size. It's clearly the same colour as the bush behind it :)

Edit: Well, almost the same :p My point being that it's green.
