Hi everyone I'm supposed to be booking a holiday at the beginning of Septmember and Its between Gumbet in Turkey and Playas de las Americas in Tenerife. I'm only looking for a cheap week away 3*. At the minute I'm getting Gumbet for 2 people for only £566 and tenerife is over £100 dearer. But for the sake of a few quid which is better? Is there good night clubs in Gumbet? And I've heard reports about cockroaches in tenerife ( I know there everywhere but I've heard they be in your hotel rooms and I'm really terrified of them haha)

A few of my friends are saying they wouldn't go to Turkey ( I'm not going with them) but I think it looks lovely and the weather is amazing but is the nightlife good like dance music and r and b? I know tenerife has amazing nightlife, and I love good nightclubs. Thanx xxx

i was in gumbet a few years back and had a great week there, i was there the first week in may, and it was before it gets really hot. Where will you be staying?

the bar in the apartments i stayed in was really cool and it's far from quiet in the town!

if you are a lady on your own the men might just ignore you in shops.....

Hi thanx for the link, I've had a look at the Ayra Hotel and Baba Hotel. I'm going with my fiance, and I heard I have to walk behind him in the street is that true? Our two friends might be going too. Is there lots of young people 18 - 30 go there, want a lively holiday haha
    Thanx x

you don't have to walk behind him in the streets, that is just crazy. Just in shops if you are looking at something the guy in the shop will come up to your fiance! things like that. Nothing worse that that!

It was a fella from work haha, I told him he was talking c**p. Wouldn't have done it anyway, although I have heard that the men come over to you all the time, espcially if you have blonde hair (I have brown with blond highlights) but have also heard everyone is really nice and helpful

Have been to both, Tenerife on a coupley holiday with g/f but to Gumbet with the lads!!!
Both are actually equaly brilliant, Tenerife is deadly for shopping, jewellery, electronics even clothes.Absoloutely choccers with English though for some people this can be an issue, it wasn't for us but they can get rowdy and stuff.Really modern built up tourist resort.

Gumbet was a great laugh loadsa bars, dirt cheap liquor, REALLY hot temperatures but like Tenerife loadsa stuff to do jet-skiing, water parks etc all the usual holiday stuff.Way more international crowd there too Dutch, Italian, Irish, English, Russian you name it.As for the locals and all the stuff about harrassing girls, its more they pay attention to girls and will look and give out compliments, its definetly not harrassment just friendliness nothing sleazy at all but there's always exceptions everywhere ;) (Ricardo from Planet Yucca I'm talking about you lol :D )

If I was in your situation I would go to Gumbet because its cheaper and save extra hard next year and do Tenerife!!! :D
Both are quality you can't really go wrong with either.

Have a brill time whichever you choose :)
