Cheap flights to London City Airport

Are there any? I usually fly through Luton, but they've now instituted a gate for Irish and Poles that only hikers would love. I like LCY, but the only flights I can find are way too dear.

don't think so, they're usualy quite expensive, air france seem to be the only carrier between dublin and london.

The really annoying thing about Air France is that you think you're getting a cheap flight - then the return costs a fortune!

London City Airport is primarily marketed at the business market so there is no bargain basement fares available.

the small aircraft restrictions rule it out for the likes of Ryanair.

BMI used to fly in there from Dublin, but they don't seem to any more; they now only offer Heathrow <shudder>.

London City is expensive, but worth it. Id rather fly there than any other London airport, tired of the others. Even though its a lot more expensive.

More expensive... certainly is. Flying to London and back by Ryanair to Stanstead next June 10 would cost €45. Going by Air France to London City Airport would be €190.

Agreed. We stayed in Canary Wharf last year - the flights were 129 Euro. Within 15 mins of getting off the plane, we were in the hotel room.

If you factor in taxis/bus/train fares and time, I don't think it is that much more expensive.

Time, yes. But expense, no. My Ryanair flight costs under €70, then there's between €16 and €20 for a one-day train/tube ticket, which I'd be getting anyway. Double the price is just too much to pay. What a pity it's so dear.

Won flights for 2 with City Jet and couldn't believe the price to add our 2 children. It was twice the price than if 4 of us travelled with Ryanair or Aer Lingus. Looks like hubby and one boy will use the tickets and myself and other lad will travel with a different airline
