    So many points to have an opinion on and so little typing skill ....off I go anyways , wouldn't be like me to not be opinionated :)

    Teamspeak ....... if it wasn't for it , I wouldn't play games . I use it for socialising and entertainment . Ours is only seriously used for BF during official wars , while it can be helpful during public games at night any of the guys here that have been on it will agree that that is not it's main function . It is broken up into rooms for different games but not different teams as we are all there to have a laugh at , and with , each other .


    Unlock vrs Stock weapons ......... I use both and find different strengths and weaknessess . I don't prefer one over the other because it is unlocked .....the AK for the medic being a prime example of an stock weapon that I prefer .

    Stat whores ........... People use this as a derogatory word , but to describe what exactly ?. I think you will find different people use it ...well , differently . I use it to describe people that are only in BF2 for the points , promotions and badges . People can play this game on ranked servers , not be gung ho to make sure and win for their side , but just be along for the fun , does this make them a stat whore ? I don't think so . ( I'll get to the whys of ranked servers in the next paragraph ) Sometimes it is the 'taking part ' that is important .

    Ranked servers..........ahhhhhhh this is one that can get some rattled . It is a fact and has been proven time and time again that if you want to fill your server then it needs to be ranked , anyone who thinks differently hasn't tried to run a server . Like it or not , this is how EA/Dice want their game to be and it has proved incredibly popular . If this is too much for some people then they should move on to another game because it ain't gonna change . I don't particularly like some aspects of it but I do accept it .

    In truth if you want a good serious game of BF2 then ........organise it .

    Edit: just to add , You don't ever really see me playing on other servers , not that I have a problem with them , just that I try to be our own to either get it going or to keep it going right , if we didn't have our own I would live on the GFF , 1stB or TiG servers .

    right through the bf series there has always been obscure servers tucked away where really good players gather, and with bf2 its no different, you just have to know where to look. A quick scan through the browser list should reveal a few, and a quick check of the player tags gives you a good idea what to expect skill wise.

    Well in all fairness that must be your fault, cause imho i think most of the basic weapons are the best, SVD, m24, M4A1 (is that right? the medic gun), ak-101, m4, and most of the others too. Get more practice with the basic weapons is all ill say to ya karma.

    One thing to say about this, deal with it! But on another note if your really desprate on this matter then find servers with claymores and mines freindly fire turned on, there are a few out there that have this. I love clays personnelly but i prefered them when they killed teammates too, for one reason it was more realistic, ive heard the arguement about snipers laying claymores in real life can make them go off in all manners of ways, but usually the sniper (or solider) will have eye contact with the claymores location, this is not always possible in bf2 so i think the claymores should be proximity based as default or give the option of remote detonation. :D

    I've had fun and good games on all servers mentioned on this thread, but i've also seen my fair share of idiocy and crap gameplay and nublets with kick votes. A lot of you arent going to like this but on ranked servers you will ALWAYS have this percentage of idiots, you cant stop it. In reality, if you want a good balanced game, against good players you have to do it on unranked servers.

    Lets face it, BF2 is an enjoyable, but highly flawed game. Its kinda hard to stomach as most of us have been playing BF and its mods since 1942 came out, and BF2 was supposed to be the be all and end all but hasnt delivered. I enjoyed the infantry games but thats about it really, and there are better infantry games out there. (i.e. dod:s).
    BF2 just has too many problems from the technical aspect (game takes about 5 minutes to shut down, the terrible server browser etc) to gamepaly related (being owned by someone with an F2000/flashbanged and cursing EA for releasing euro forces/special forces and you not buying it).
    And yeah, inr egards to what cully said, we bought an unranked server at first and got stung, it sat empty for 3 months. Noone joins unranked servers. fact.
    Right now we run a 16man server from one of our members own personal broadband connections which we just use for praccy.

    I have no problems fragging with the stock weapons, this is a point about balance. And no matter what what you say in its defence, its blatantly obvious that 2 or 3 of the unlocks are far superior, both in power and accuracy. g36e and pkm are the ones that stand out.

    Much the same as having the false impression snipers can help win inf matches :D
