I'm on my second Nokia with PTT (Push to Talk) capability but its not supported by O2. I know they have it in Israel and possibly Norway and Finland - have any of you used it? Is it any good? Are there any plans to introduce it here?

Can someone elaborate on what PTT actually is? Well, I know what it is, but rather....how it works?

I used it in america last year, its like walkie talkies over a mobile network, but that annoying bleep sound you would have after you talked.
I think its big in the US because they dont use SMS that much.

sorry i started another thread about push to talk before i knew that PTT was used for it,

why aren't they letting us use it here, is it a network problem?
    what's the range on it?
of the people that have used it? did u find it useful or was it just another "camera phone" sort of idea?

    Philip :)

Dont forget in America you also have to pay to receive calls on a mobile, so I assume PTT works out cheaper. Personally dont see the market for it here. I know at least one network here is looking at it, but cant see it being released any time soon.
