Hi, i dont know if this is just me, but its pissing me off, when i go out drinking my mouth drys up real bad, like literally my spit is almost like powder i go rinse my mouth in the toilet and it goes away for a while but comes back in about ten minutes. Its fukin annoying cos in the last month or two ive had about 5/6 chances to kiss girls but didnt cos of this fukin dry mouth **** and cant kiss them with a mouth full of powder like spit, anyone else get this?, and whats the solution, chewing gum don't seem to help much and drinking water only takes it away for a while. Maybe im some sort of spastic, i dunno, cos noone i know gets it, and its really fuking up my nights knowing that i cant pull cos of my 80s powder mouth

hmm i get that too sometmes..

    only reasons are

    smoking
    or

only solution is to drink more or stop the above.... or chew gum, (i know i know it makes the drink taste nasty but thats all the advice i have...)

Alcohol dehydrates. Drink lots of water, not just to wet your mouth, you need to rehydrate.

Score the girl and steal hers, it's like being a vampire, but less hassle.

Just in the morning... Like someone said, drink water and lots of it.

My problem is that after I've been our drinking, I always seem to wake up at around 6.30 or 7am! I think that's from dehydration too. Wrecks my head though.

    Cottonmouth, as it's known.

I've always found Lucozade keeps it away for a while longer than water does for some reason.
    Chewing gum helps aswell.

Usually get it when I smoke when I'm out. It's horrible tbh.

Sounds like you are prone to dehydration. Do you drink a lot of water in general? I'd bet you don't drink anywhere near 8 glasses a day, which is why the alcohol is dehydrating you so quickly. Try and get a pint of water with your beer so you can have one or two during the night, will keep you hydrated and give you less of a hangover!

Yeah by rinsing out you mouth is just going to cure the problem for a few moments. You're actually supposed to have a glass of water while you are drinking at some point in the night. I do this anyway.

It's better just to treat the root of the problem - dehydration. you should be drinking 2/3 litres a day.

I only get it the morning after, and when I drink gin && tonic.

Think About it - your Body's so dehydrated that it has to stop producing as much saliva as it did.

It's like your bodys screaming out I need water, NOW and you're giving it alcohol.
Can't be good for your skin either

Although it will mess up the taste of beer if you happen to be drinking it, I recommend you try out "Aqua Drops". They come in yellow (lemon flavoured) and green (apple flavoured I think) coloured container-things and you'll get them in most supermarkets or smaller shops. They re-hyrdate your mouth pretty well I find. It'd give it a try anyway. Good luck.

Yeah I get this sometimes after a heavy night out, not during though. Usually drink a couple of pints of water in one go which seems to sort it out fairly quickly.

Alcohol (like caffeine) is a diuretic, i.e. make you piss more than you need too. If you are drinking vodka & coke you piss far more than you need too, since you have the caffeine at work too, and you take in very little water drinking spirits. Change to relatively low % pints like smithwicks or guinness and drink water in between pints.
