    Who's going?

Looks brilliant. Pity it's in Mullingar though! Nevertheless, I got tickets this morning. Bit worried that it'll be a wash out, but I'm thinking it's unlikely with such a wicked line-up.

"The Prodigy, The Streets, DJ Tiesto, Paul Oakenfold, Ian Brown, Razorlight,
Mylo, Deep Dish, Carl Cox, Roger Sanchez, Sasha & Digweed, Audio Bullys,
Cagedbaby, Tiga, Vitalic plus many more..."

Nothing more than a weak attempt to grab back some of the custom MCD are losing to aiken through electric picnic.

    Crash and burn.

Each to their own, but I would choose this line up over that of Electric Picnic any time. Depends on what you're into I suppose...

If you're into another Skangerfest I suppose...

Wow, that lineup sucks more than the Oxegen and EP one. I think the Oxegen one is bad, i hate the EP one, and then this comes along. Is Download our best chance at a near good festival anytime soon?

Hmmm yes, skangers from the bog too, so it'll be a double whammy. Oh well... ;)

    Sucks how exactly?
Just a guess here but is it a case that you only like Metal?

They may not be your bag but to say the lineups suck is ignorant. Both Oxegen and Ep have decent lineups for the genres they service.

However I agree with you on hi-fi. It looks like the headliners were just tacked onto a totally different festival. Its trying to appeal to two very different crowds and looks very patchy as a result.

I'm having second thoughts about buying the tickets now... I stupidly hadn't considered the skanger aspect. Although I do know a lot of non-skangers who are interested. Plus the fact that it's not in Dublin may deter a lot of them. There'll just be loads from the country instead!

I'm just hoping it'll sell out so I can suss it out closer to the time, and if I'm not feeling it will at least have the choice to get rid of the tickets.

Chances of it selling out between now and then...?

That's an odd comment to make. If you're into the Download festival, what *possible* interest could you have in the type of groups that play at Electric Picnic or Oxegen? When have they ever had hard rock/metal acts?

    Sassy, sassy, worry not.

I am what I would hope is one of the "normals" ie not skang.

I and about 10 friends went to Global Gathering in Millstreet last year.
First gig I ever went to actually.
There was plenty of skang there, but that is to be expected at an event like this where the emphasis is on dance music. Wasnt intimidating tho coz there was plenty of security.

But, it was great craic. Highlight for me was Dave Clarke and Carl Cox, last four hours of the gig in the Carl Cox tent. Dont think Tiesto lived up to the hype, even tho I am a big fan. Armin Van Buuren did it for me in the Godskitchen Arena.

You really can avoid skangers when probably about half the crowd are normals. And believe me, the skangers are easy to spot. Fact.

Defo get a ticket. Go enjoy yourself and the music. Its worth it.

As for the other discussions, ie Oxygen and EP.

Went to EP last year. Wicked.

Have avoided and will avoid Oxygen.

With the "Garden Party" on in early June and Bud Rising coming up, I think there is plenty to suit everyone...
