    Hi,

Im looking to get a RIB for the summer.

Ive got around 10-15k to spend and im thinking of one around 5-6m with a 60-90hp engine.

Ill be using it for skiing and fishing mostly.

Any help would be great. Any ideas where i should start looking.

Also, is ebay any good for boats?

    Thanks

    Niall

It's probably a good idea to do a powerboat handling course first also.
Can I ask why a RIB and why not a speedboat or something similar?

    Thanks for the link

Ive no problem driving(?) boats just not sure about buying them.

Im thinkin of a rib because ill be using it a good bit on beaches and might survivwe a little better than a completely rigid hull speedboat.

also, any idea if you can attach an air frame to a rib for wakeboarding?

    thanks

Don't really know what difference a rib would make on a beach, it might be a bit lighter though if you're planning on launching it there. You can fit an air frame alright but I'd have to reccomend considering a fully rigid hull. Even if planning on wakeboarding, depending on the rib it can be quite awkward finding a decent place for your spotter to sit. No matter what you get make sure there is a decent trailer included and don't underestimate the importance of a good all weather cover also. Even if you plan to leave the boat in a marina etc.. there will always be a time when you've to leave it for a while on the trailer and what not.
The powerboat handling courses are excellent and they're not too expensive, it's worth it for the piece of mind alone.
