Bomb the Bass - Into the Dragon with money from my first summer job. I have to consider this my first proper purchase. I've since lost the tape (!) but got it again on eBay on vinyl :)

First album actual, was a TotP compo from 1980, on vinyl which I still have lol

Holy **** - that did come out 22 years ago. Ouch.

Mine was Ziggy Stardust bought the same year that 1999 came out - I was 12 at the time. The most recent one was a Johnny cash one.

I've just pulled it off the shelf to have a look again.
My mother bought it for me in Woolworths, Wexford in December 1983.

UB40 and Kajagoogoo have two songs apiece on it.

    Best songs
Side 1 - Duran Duran / Heaven 17/ Malcolm McClaren
Side 2 - Men Without Hats / Mike Oldfield / Rock Steady Crew
Side 3 - New Edition / Human League / Howard Jone
Side 4 - Will Powers / The Cure / Madness

If I had to pick one - "Moonlight Shadow".

Strangely, some of the big hits of 1983 are not on it e.g. Billie Jean, Uptown girl, Every breath you take and Let's dance. Probably something to do with record company rights etc.

    Apologies for going off-topic.

First album I bought for myself was Nirvana - Bleach. Had some dodgy compilations before that though but they were presents. We're talking the Smash Hits / Stock Aitken Waterman kind of dodgy.

    Oh the shame!
