setting up a php/mySQL testing environment on my PC

Hi, Is is possible for me to set up an apache server on windows xp that links to a mySQL database so i can write php and test my system before i buy hosting from a company ? i would guess that it is possible so could someone send some links on where i could gete started? Thanks
