Car Cradle for N70???

Looking to change my phone, but the range of cradles 'compatable' with my car (2004 2nd model A4) that is offered by the car dealer is pretty narrow. I was wondering, are phone cradles a universal fit, or will buying one that is not on the 'aproved' list mean compatability problems??

(as the title says, ideally trying to find one for an N70)

can anyone offer any advice??
