    Hi Folks

I have an 05 toyota avensis, black metallic paint, there are a few scratches on it, most recently a slight bump in a car park. :(

None of the scratches are deep, just superficial, but still visible.

Can anyone recommend any products I could use to fix these, or should I take it to a panel beater or something? I tried using those stupid black stickers that come with it but they are just plain stupid!

anyhoo, any help would be appreciated

    Thanks :)

try using T-Cut, or light rubbing compound.

Also if your car gets any bird droppings on it, wash them off as quick as possible.
Night Sky Black is quite vulnerable to droppings.

What you do depends on how deep the scratches are. If they are just in the clearcoat, the T-cut or similar should work, but you'll want to be careful with it.

If the paint itself is scratched, you could get a touch-up pen from this place:

You'll need to know your paint code. Note, that a pen alone won't make the surface smooth if that's what's required. It'll just make the scratch less visible.

I also know a lot of people who swear by this company's products:

    but I haven't tried them.
